"Wisconsin's Premier Supplier to the Laminate and Woodworking Industries"

Our History

Alpine Plywood was incorporated in January 1975 by A.J. Groskopf, Joseph LaBarber and Eric Tamm. The new company had its roots in Lakeside Plywood, which dated back to 1961. In the mid-seventies, our primary market was retail lumber, providing fill-in shipments of softwood plywood items. That market was quite competitive and our path to success was to stand apart from the competition by providing the best service the marketplace had ever known.

In 1978, Alpine Plywood became the distributor of Wilsonart® brand high-pressure laminate in Wisconsin. This development fueled our growth and provided entry into many new markets. We continued to assemble an expansive panel product line to meet and anticipate the needs of a growing industrial customer base.

The 1990’s provided Alpine Plywood with a number of new opportunities. The introduction of Wilsonart Gibraltar in 1991 brought us into the solid surfacing market. In 1998, the addition of Blum® Hardware to our product line was a perfect complement to the hardwood plywood and other panels that we were already taking to our customers. Our facility was expanded twice during this period. In 2001, we added panel lamination to our menu of services and the market responded eagerly to this new offering.

As we anticipate the changes of an evolving market, Alpine is committed to expanding our product line to meet the growing needs of an expanding marketplace.
